The Late, Late, Late, Late Show

Life No Comments »

Deep down in my DNA, I’m convinced that I’m hard-wired to be a night owl. Now you might think that since I’m building an online business that I’d be more productive late at night, during a second wind.

I wish!

More often than not, I find myself exploring the ‘net. And boy does my surfing get eclectic! I’ll get on these subject matter kicks. Like the other night, I was focused on recipes. I admit that I’m not very daring when it comes to eating, but the older I’ve gotten, the more experimenting I’ve done.

So when I found myself whizzing past all the Indian recipes, I thought, “Why am I doing this? How do I know I don’t like Indian food? I’ve never tried it.” I perused some recipes, printed them out, and now all that’s left is the right night to try out a new cuisine.

But what are the odds?

Reading My Email

Life No Comments »

Many years ago, I setup an email account just for what my friends send me.  My reasoning behind this move was that I used to get jokes sent to my work email account, and the boss had to talk to me when I accidentally sent him some inappropriate stuff.

So, I have my own email that gets “good stuff” from my friends.  Usually, I set aside the end of my day to read these messages from my friends.  It not only makes the day better, but it is a great way to get ready for bed.

Today, there didn’t seem to be any funny emails in my box.  Rather, my one friend decided to show me some links to Magick Spells & Rituals and the benefits of Amulets & Charms.

Since last year when he gave me some Magick Talismans for my birthday, he has been trying to get me interested in Magick.  Needless to say, I will have to have a talk with him and tell him to keep sending these messages.

Visiting the Travel Agency

Life, Travel No Comments »

I thought that I would go down today to the travel agency near my house.  I thought that if I went down there I could find out if they had any deals on travel at the moment.  I would have liked it if they could just mail me the deals, but for whatever reason, they don’t offer that service.

So, I took a walk down to the travel agency because it was a bright and sunny day.  It has been awhile since it was as nice as it is out, and I had to take advantage of it.

Once I made it down to the travel agency, I asked an agent if they had any deals on worldwide trips and tours.  She showed me some of their deals and sent me home with some pamphlets to show the wife.

It was a nice walk home and I can’t wait until the wife gets home from work - I think she will like what I have found.

Signing Up For a Dating Site

Life No Comments »

With all the attention both online and offline regarding dating services, I thought I would just sign up and see what they are about.  It wouldn’t hurt, right?

Well, it has taken a little while for me to fill out my profile.  Though it wasn’t hard, I don’t really think that I have ever had to “sell” myself except in a job interview - I wanted to craft a profile that someone would actually be interested in.

It is not that I am not interesting by any means, I just feel a little bit uncomfortable with the entire process.  It feels a little weird going through profile after profile, looking at their life resume, and picking people from there.

What bothers me a little bit is that there is no way to tell if the profiles that I am looking at are legitimate, or just some made up profile in an attempt to get attention.  I know that my brother found that out first hand when he tried to meet someone he met online - she was not even close to what her profile said.

I guess I’ll wait and see what happens - whatever the results, it should be an adventure.

Getting Flyers Translated

Most of the time I am able to keep track of all the tasks that I need to accomplish in one day.  But from time to time, I can make a mistake and forget a small detail that could have disastrous consequences.

Now, I just recently did such a thing while over in London, England.  You see, I brought some pamphlets to hand out at the campuses there, but I made the mistake of bringing ones that were in German.

Well, that was no good.  I figured that the population on campus that spoke German would be so small that I would not be able to get my message across, so I needed to do something quick.

After a quick search online for “translation company London“, I was able to get my pamphlets translated and reprinted quickly.  I will be able to go hand them out this week as I had planned - maybe next time I will make myself a list.
