I asked my grandson on his 12th birthday what he wanted for his birthday. I expected an answer like a book or bicycle. However his answer was a far cry from what I was thinking. He asked me for a graphics card so that he could play car race games. Now that was a surprise! The craze for car racing games started in the mid 90’s. Although the Need for Speed was the pioneer in this field, there are many others now, which have surpassed the popularity of Need for Speed. The most popular still remains the car racing games, which have created havoc among the kids and the teenagers. I cannot blame my grandson. After all he belongs to a generation, which has literally thrived on speed and top gears. It is fun, it has the element of excitement and moreover there is this urge to win. Everything seems so real in this virtual world as one can actually derive an association with the real world. You take the risks maneuver the car on the dangerous ramp and what’s more you get to drive a Ferrari! Now that is one temptation, which even I will find hard to resist.
